When planning this short getaway, I prioritized finding ten of the best places to take pictures in Nashville. One of my favorite things to do on vacation is take pictures. Photos are the only thing you can bring back from a trip that lasts forever besides souvenirs. However, t-shirts fade, and shot glasses ultimately break, so pictures are the best souvenirs.
Going to a new city and exploring its photo spots is also an excellent way to become familiar with the location and experience the culture and feel of a town. I started my photo locations with The Parthenon at 2500 West End Ave, Nashville, TN 37203.
It was a stormy day, but I didn’t let that stop me from exploring all the photo spots Nashville offers. When it comes to where to take pictures in Nashville, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered!
Here are the 10 best places to take pictures in Nashville.
1. Bottoms Up Nashville
This location is one of the most colorful. It’s in an alleyway, so you will want to park and walk around, as that is the easiest option. The mural was painted by artist Ali Futrell in 2021 and is a staple Nashville photo spot.
Address: 2403 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204
2. Love Shack Fancy
This mural is located on the Love Shack Fancy store building in the 12 South neighborhood. The store is known for its pink exterior, featuring a custom flowers and bows mural. This Nashville mural is a must-stop if you are a pink lover like me.
Address: 2301 12th Ave South, Nashville, TN 37204
3. Welcome to Music Kitty
This is within walking distance of the Love Shack Fancy store, so you can easily pop over to this Nashville photo spot afterward. You will enjoy the 12 South neighborhood as it seems more residential than some of the other trendy areas in Nashville, and all the photo spots make it that much more exciting.
Address: 2315 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37219
4. I Believe In Nashville
Also located in 12 South, the I Believe in Nashville mural may be the number one I’ve seen on social media. It was my favorite, as it felt the most iconic. You will cross so many off your list just walking around this neighborhood. Be sure not to miss this one.
Address: 2702 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204
5. Instagram Like
The Instagram-like mural is in the Germantown neighborhood, so you must drive. Artist Chris Tidwell painted it to embrace love for a community.
Address: 1230 4th Avenue, North Nashville, TN 37203
6. Draper James
This blue and white striped wall is at the Draper James store in the 12 South neighborhood. Fun fact: Draper James was founded by actress Reece Witherspoon in 2015.
Address: 2608 12th Ave. S, Nashville, TN
7. Candy Hearts
This is the ultimate photo opportunity if you are headed to Nashville for a bachelorette party. The Candy Hearts mural is located south of the railroad overpass, and you can park and walk straight to it.
Address: 601 8th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203
8. Looking Pretty Music City
This mural is also located in the 12 South neighborhood. In this neighborhood alone, you could easily hit ten-plus photo opportunities. I love this mural painted by Austin-based artist Emily Eisenhart.
Address: 2709 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204
9. Riverfront Park
Riverfront Park was created in the early 80s to celebrate Nashville’s river history. Although the weather didn’t cooperate with me, the park has iconic views of Nissan Stadium and downtown Nashville.
Address: 100 1st Ave N, Nashville, TN 37201
10. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs
On my way to dinner at Pelican & Pig, I stumbled across this mural by artist Bryan Deese of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. It was the perfect Nashville photo opportunity before an incredibly delicious dinner. We sat at the bar and talked with the chef and owner, Nick Guidry. It was one of the top five dinners I’ve ever had, and I highly recommend it!
Address: 1106 Gallatin Ave Nashville, TN 37206
Photography Tip
Google the date, city, and sunrise time in each city you visit. For example, I visited Nashville on February 9th, so I searched “February 9th Nashville sunrise” and determined that if I wanted the place all to myself, I needed to arrive by 7:00 a.m. You could do the same thing for sunset, but expect more people at each location during golden hour.
It was a short and rainy trip, but finding ten places to take pictures in Nashville made the journey and the weather worth it (eleven places if you count The Parthenon). I didn’t even scratch the surface of all the murals and photo spots Nashville offers, so I must come back and visit soon.
