So much research and trial goes into finding the best camera bag for women. Especially for petite women like me!

From the different compartments a bag offers to how the bag fits on your body, you have to find one that is just right. After many months (and hundreds of wasted dollars later), I finally found the ultimate camera bag!

After owning this bag for over a year, I can confidently say that the WANDRD PRVKE LITE accompanies me on every trip. I’m unsure I’ll ever part ways with what I consider to be the perfect photography backpack.

If you’ve been searching for the best camera bag to bring on all your adventures, you can stop looking!

Here is my review of the best camera bag for women.

WANDRD PRVKE Lite Photography Backpack

Because I’ve raved about this backpack so much, my partner Todd purchased one, too! He bought a larger version that is 31 Liters in size.

We travel together often, and we take Lyft rides from the airport to our hotel in any city where we do not rent a car. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve stepped out of our Lyft ride wearing matching backpacks only for the hotel staff to compliment us like crazy!

Many have asked what brand our bags are and where they can purchase one. Sometimes, I feel like a walking spokesperson for WANDRD, and I’m OK with it.

When I love something, I tend to tell everyone who will give me the time and listen to me blab about it!

Best Backpack for Petite Women

This bag suits men and women of all shapes and sizes. But it’s important to note that the Lite size is perfect for petite women like me. I can’t tell you how many bags I have ordered, returned, or sold to a family member after the size didn’t work on my frame.

The WANDRD Prvke Lite is the crème de la crème of all bags. Not only is the smaller size the most affordable of all the WANDRD versions, but the smaller size and built-in camera cube make this the ultimate daily carry.

The PRVKE Lite contains only high-quality materials, and after carrying it on 35+ flights over the past year and a half, it stands the test of time. My bag still looks and feels brand new, and I get excited each time I take it out of my closet and pack it full of gear for my adventures!

5 Things I Love About the Wandrd Prvke Lite

1. Expandable Rolltop

The rolltop part of the bag is one of the many features that sold me. I always carry a small crossbody purse, which sometimes gets me in trouble if I forget to “hide” it before boarding the plane.

Since you are allowed to have one carry-on and one personal item, if I forget to put my crossbody away, then it would be considered a third item, which isn’t allowed.

After buying the PRVKE Lite, I can easily store my crossbody purse in the top compartment, continue living the “carry-on-only” life, and make my backpack my only “personal item.”

The rolltop gives an additional 5 liters of space!

2. Built-in Camera Cube

The PRVKE Lite is the only backpack in WANDRD’S PRVKE lineup with a built-in camera cube. You must purchase a camera cube separately for the other sizes (like the one Todd carries).

3. Laptop Sleeve

The laptop sleeve on the WANDRD PRVKE Lite is highly padded and can easily fit a Macbook laptop. I’ve stored a 13″ MacBook Air, which fits perfectly!

In the same section are three different zipper compartments, making storing your laptop charger, memory cards, or small photography accessories easy. Of all the bags I have owned in the past, this has been the best setup by far!

4. Interior Organization

Don’t let the advertised smaller size fool you! The PRVKE Lite holds tons of gear!

I can easily fit my drone, drone controller, and digital camera with all the batteries, chargers, and accessories. I was seriously shocked when I added my gear for the first time!

This bag holds more gear than some of the larger backpacks I previously owned. So, while the backpack has a smaller profile (perfect for women), you won’t have to sacrifice space!

The PRVKE Lite bag offers padded camera protection, so I never have to worry if I accidentally slam my bag down hard.

5. Clamshell Opening

Another game-changer is that the gear is accessible in the back. If I walk through the airport (or a city), someone cannot access the camera cube compartment from the front while my back is to them. This feature is essential for security and protecting our valuable gear.

The opening is accessible from the back, so if I’m wearing the bag, it is never possible for someone to get to my gear unless they pry it off of my body first. While it’s hard for others to access the gear while I have the bag on- the flipside is that it’s effortless to pack my gear in because it completely opens and lies flat.

You can open your backpack on a table or hotel room bed, load all your photography gear, and be on your way. The clamshell opening makes packing an absolute breeze!

Take it from someone who has wasted hundreds of dollars trying to find the best camera backpack. The WANDRD Prvke Lite is the best camera bag for women you could ever imagine owning.

This bag has been a game changer and seriously elevated my travel game. My favorite bag and I have been walking on the Las Vegas strip, strolling through the National Mall in Washington DC, and boating to watch Orca Whales in the wild.

  1. Love your write-up of this camera bag. I am a petite woman (5’2″) who is gear intensive and has wasted a lot of money on camera bags because I also carry other item in my one carry-on allowed. Like you, I live for travel and photography. So, my question is, do you thing the small version (that sounds like it would fit me perfectly) could include the following:
    Camera body w/ standard lens
    Long telephoto (100-400)
    Macro lens
    Chargers/cables/peripheral drives (2)
    laptop

    AND the following–
a book or work papers (I’m project driven)
Birding binoculars (I hate to put mine in checked baggage, but often do now to save space in carry on)
    shawl for warmth

My concern is that you did not mention other lenses. Long lens takes up a lot of space. I don’t know drone photography so can’t guess how that would compare, space-wise.

Thank you! I’m close to putting this bag on my Christmas wish list!

    1. Hi Tamara. I am 5’1″ so I completely understand wanting a bag that fits all your gear without weighing 1,000 lbs.

It might be a tight squeeze, but you could easily fit your camera body with a standard lens, a macro lens, all the charges and accessories, and a laptop. I believe the larger lens may be a tight squeeze with the other items you want to pack. (I’m also project-driven)

I would check out the next size up, the 21-liter bag + a camera cube insert. That will give you much more room to accommodate all the items you want to pack without sacrificing. I recently acquired a second camera body and may have to do the same thing myself now.

I love that this bag is on your Christmas wish list. It’s seriously the best backpack I’ve ever owned. It took me years to find it, but I’m so glad I did. You will love it too!

Thank you for reading my blog. It means the world!
