There are many decisions to make when planning a trip. One decision that could be the most crucial for a trip is where to stay. For myself, staying at The Seabird Resort in Oceanside, California, was undoubtedly one of the better trip decisions I have made for lodging.
After months of dreaming about this property, I finally got to check this bucket list hotel off my list.
The Seabird Resort is a Destination by Hyatt hotel located in Oceanside, California. If you’ve read other posts on my blog, you will know how much I love Hyatt Hotels! (I’m obsessed!) The Seabird is one of two properties in this location, the other sister property, The Mission Pacific Hotel, is just steps away if you’d like another option when selecting your lodging.
Here’s what it’s like staying at The Seabird Resort in Oceanside, California.
The Hotel
One thing I appreciate in hotels when visiting is those with grand lobbies. As someone who grew up staying in budget hotels, I never had the opportunity to experience the feeling of walking through a grand lobby, especially at a hotel I was actually staying in. Now that I am an adult on my own budget, having the ability to pick hotels, especially those with grand lobbies, has increased my excitement to travel.
Walking through the Seabird Resort lobby, you immediately feel the beach house vibe. This hotel has many exciting aspects, but my favorite was the on-site library on the second floor. When you stay here, stopping in and relaxing with a good book is truly a must.
The Rooms
The Seabird Resort offers coastal luxury with amazing views. Our room was a “1 king bed with ocean view” room that overlooked the Pacific Ocean from our hotel balcony.
Returning to the coastal-inspired theme, the pops of color and the ocean views made this property feel like my own oasis to relax after a day of exploring.
Dining at the Seabird Resort
When dining at The Seabird Resort, you have multiple choices.
- The Piper has an open-kitchen design and an exceptional menu with local produce and organic juices.
- The Shore Room is an oceanfront cocktail bar and is the perfect place to grab a drink while admiring the beachfront views.
- The Shelter Club is where you’ll find refreshing drinks and tasty snacks, but it is exclusive to hotel guests only.
We dined at the Piper for breakfast each morning. The first morning was a weekday, so I could order off the full menu and loved everything I had. The second morning was a weekend day, so the only option was a buffet. Although I could not make any specific choices off the menu, they had an endless supply of almost anything I could think of for breakfast.
